The Perfect Birthday Gift GIVEAWAY!
On Nov. 2 my daughter turns 2 and I have no clue what to buy. I suggested a fabric play house, ride on motorcycle, and a painting easel. I know for a fact that I'm getting her clothes and shoes but what else? That's where you come in leave a comment saying what I should buy and the one her daddy picks will win a POTLUCK OF NON INSERT COUPONS. The Giveaway will end on Monday Oct. 20, 2008 at 9pm est.

I say, a play kitchen. My kids have never run out of things to do with one of those. You can get them fairly inexpensively if you look around and the play food options are pretty cool!

How about a doll house? I had one of these when I was a kid and loved it. Thanks for the giveaway.

This may sound funny, but our favorite toy lately has been Moon Sand. We love it. It never dries up, feels super soft and it's no big deal if it gets on the floor or carpet. It vacuums up super easy. It's very moldable and fun. Going into cooler weather, it's a fun way to bring sand indoors. You can buy it at Walmart, Target, just about any store that sells toys. Two days ago I saw a bunch of Moon Sand sets on clearance at Target.
Thanks!

How about a child's vanity with some dress up clothes. I bet you could find a bunch of pretty Halloween outfits (like princess clothes) marked down to go with it.
Thanks for offering this giveaway!

Whenever I buy stuff for my neices, I always end up defaulting to Disney Princess stuff. The choices are endless and reasonable. Coloring books, books, toys, even play make up sets!
Thanks for the giveaway!

Ok, you already mentioned it but I just bought my boys 4 and 1 1/2 an easel. They love it!!! They don't fight over it since there is two sides it is very educational since my older boy can work on his letters, name, numbers and shapes and my little one is making progress just drawing lines and trying circles. I found it on Craigslist for $20.00 in perfect condition if you want to look into it it's worth it! My other favortie is a step 2 lego table. They are discontinued now but you can find them on ebay or maybe craigslist. We have had 4 years of fun with it! Good luck!

We filled a bucket full of art supplies-glue, colors, scissors, rulers, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, coloring books, writing paper and paint - and they loved it! Hope this helps!

I think since my first words were "Read the book," and now I write for a living, I think books are always a good gift. Here's a link to get her library started:

How crafty are you? My kids, my nieces & nephews all LOVED to play house at that age. I would sew up a flat sheet & use fabric to paint the house & cut out doors & windows - it fit over the top of a folding table and has always been a big hit.
Does she like things like My Little Pony? The Cabbage Patch dolls?

wow your readers are so good, they thought of all of the gifts that were hits when my little girl was two.
I would suggest not getting a rocking horse. I got mine a nice one (furry like a stuffed animal, that makes horse sounds). I got one for my little one for Christmas (a month after her 2nd birthday) and she ran screaming and would not go near it for nearly 7 months (which she loves now though).
Another bad one was the tickle me elmo tmx or whatever, she was terrified of that too, but at least she eased up to it quicker.
My daughter's favorite gift thought was the My first dollhouse by fisher price. She loved it and still does (she is almost 4). It has accessories that you can buy to go with it and they are great, but I also bought the Dora doll house accessories because they are the same size and my daughter loves Dora. Well I guess you could actually get her the Dora house (but it was too expensive for us at the time).
Books last a lifetime!
"I'll Love You Forever" is one my husband and I both enjoyed reading to our daughter. But more important -
she remembers (as a teen) the nighttime snuggling and reading from this book!
I would suggest play house items! Pretend food, and cooking pots, and brooms and vacuums. Little girls love to act like mommy!
