I read about a person on the internet who was going around to places like Goodwill and handing out hundreds of dollars to people in need. It made me cry!
The woman working in the Walmart Garden Center was freezing and y friend went into the store, bought a space heater and gave it to her.
We have something in my community called OTHERPEOPLEMATTER.ORG. Regular people seeking out ways to help where they can!
My four year old went and helped an older lady whose cart was stuck at Wal-Mart!
Just today in CVS I saw a young woman helping an older lady load up the 4/$13 Pepsi! Gotta love that.

The good deed I saw today was at the gas station where the car next to us did not have enough money to fill his car. My fiance gave him $10 so he could get home. It was very nice and the man was very thankful. This gift card would really help us! Thanks!
Every year at church we pack shoeboxes full of presents for kids around the world for Operation Shoe Box run by Samaritan's Purse! That's probably the most selfless thing I've seen people do during the holidays.

There is a homeless man that come around our neighborhood every Sunday going through trash cans looking for cans. My husband stopped him one week and told him we would leave our cans out for him because our garbage is filled with baby diapers. He has come back every week since and he knocks on our door when he arrives and we fill a bag of food for him including whayever hot I've made for dinner. He came last night and we asked him if he would be by next week and he said yes, so we told him we would have a BIG box ready for him. We plan to get clothing, foods that need no refridgeration, etc. and fill it up. Plus we have involoved the kids so hey understand how blessed we are. He's also never asked us for money and is always polite, so it feels really good to help this poor man. I would love to win the gift card to help us fill his box!

I have a friend who was just discharged from the army (medical) and their heat went out in their house. The lady at the VA brought them a space heater when she found out about it just to make sure they were okay for the night that it froze down here. So nice, most people wouldn't have bothered.

My neighbor dropped of advent calendars for all of the kids on the block.
Our church is collecting food and toiletry items for families in our community that don't have a lot this season. It's going to be such a blessing to so many. Thanks for the giveaway!

Donating to the food pantries this year is so important. They are desperate for anything they can get. There is so many more needy people this year.
A good deed done for us last week was when a man and wife gave us money out of the blue to help us get our van brakes fixed. They didn't even know we were in need.
I read about a person that paid for the food for the person in line behind them.
We bought a toy for Toys for Tots. I really hope the child who receives it enjoys it.
Last weekend, we saw a man asking people for money. Trying to help out, and teach my kids the "helpful way," we gave him a couple of bucks, and told him he should go into the fast food restaurant. (next to where we were) Very soon after this, he returned and said they would not serve him there. (So not cool, by the way!) We went inside ourselves and got him a couple of meals for him. I sure hope this made his day!
Now my step-son is telling everyone that my friends smell funny! lol!
My sister had the widow across the street from her over for dinner. They had a great time talking about how long she had lived on the street and how things had changed over the 30 years she had lived there.

One sweet treat I read on someone's blog, and have started doing myself, is by asking my grocery store cashier what her/his favorite candy bar is. Once they tell me, I grab it from the candy shelf, pay for it and then smile while handing it to them, saying, "Merry Christmas!".
My son donated $10 of his own money to provide diapers to families in our area.
Amazon has had some amazing toy deals, and free shipping!

I was so blessed the other night by a sweet generous gentleman. My husband, baby and I walked 6 1/2 blocks in the icy cold for a rare treat at a local coffee shop. I had grabbed my Discover card and nothing else. We had just placed our order and were looking forward to a cozy little time together after some hectic weeks when the cashier informed me that they don't take Discover! We were so disappointed and so I canceled the order and were trying to decided what to do since we really did at least want a bit of a break from the wind and cold. Then this younger gentleman walked over and pressed $5 into my hand and said, "here, have some coffee...Merry Christmas!" I was so taken back and didn't want to accept it from him, but he insisted. Let me tell you, our hearts were warmed and the hot drinks tasted better than ever! And my husband and I had some much needed connecting time! I keep thinking about that man and pray God blesses him...and I want to pass on his kindness.

On my husband's side of the family, we are pooling the money we would have given in gifts to each other and are buying something from World Vision.

Last time I was walking home from Target, I saw a lady helping an older lady off the steps from the bus and then across the street. There was snow everywhere and I thought it was so sweet to see the Christmas spirit. Thanks for the giveaway!

I have become very involved in the Angel Tree ministries this year, and I was amazed to see how many families that have so little are still signing up to adopt Angels. I thank God everyday for all the blessings he has given me and thank him that there are still so many people that want to share their blessings even in these difficult times.

A friend of mine is in the process of raising a VERY large sum of money to help out a fellow classmate who was recently in a serious auto injury. He wants to be able to help her family cover their out-of-pocket medical expenses.

My car is broken and I have no one to spend Christmas with family wise since my son passed away in 2006. So my special friend Norma is going to drive an hour and a half to come and pick me up on the 23rd and have me spend the next four days with she and her family. What a blessing.
So many good deeds going on, but I think the best is when people give to others without them knowing. I know of someone who gets gifts for families in need and leaves them all wrapped up in pretty packages on the back porch. :)

I saw on the news about a photographer in NY who was taking free photos of homeless families in NY and then presenting them with the photos in frames. Very AWESOME!
We try every year to let my son pick an angel off of the angel tree for a boy his age and let him pick out some things for the little boy. HE is only 4 but he really enjoys it and I hope we can continue the tradition every year!
I was at Aldi's and the debit card reader wouldn't read the strip. They can't punch the number in to run it as credit, so I was going to have to come back alter after my hubby went to the bank. The lady in line behind me paid for my grocery order (about $80!) and wouldn't let me pay her back.

My children overheard some adults talking about a foundation that was collecting toy donations for children who otherwise might not get anything for Christmas. They were so saddened that they went to their rooms and each filled a bag of toys to give away. My first reaction was to try and talk them out of it because it´s not like they have so many toys (or are going to be getting many Christmas presents) and I thought they would regret it after it was too late. They would not be deterred and put me to shame with their generosity and overall Christmas Spirit. I´m so proud of them. If I win this GC I´ll ask them what we should do with it.

Recently, one of the new workers at our local Goodwill Store found
$7,500 dollars in an article of donated clothing. She gave the money to her boss. A family from the town next to hers saw the story on the news. They got their money returned.
Not long after, the store received an anonymous check for $7,500 from a person out of state! Thanks, Cindi

There are some homeless people that live downtown that for one reason or another dont like to go to the local homeless shelter. Every so often I take them our old blankets, coats, clothes, just whatever I think they will use.
This year I made an extra turkey at thankgiving, and took it down there too. They were so thankful, and polite.

I just want to start by saying that I think all the hours that these saving bloggers put it in is such a good deed that goes unnoticed.
I amazed at how generous that "couponers" and "savers" are! I hope that we can see this as something that will last all year long and not just around the holidays.I hope that we can feel generous through our extra efforts to save to share with others.
Thanks to all, who make saving $$ a better life for us, our families and those we meet in need.

My church is very service oriented and some of the wonderful things that I have seen this year are handing out entire thanksgiving meals and setting up a toy store for low income families to "shop" from. Some lucky kid will get a light saber that we donated!

At my work we get gifts for two families at a local homeless shelter. We have also been taking food donations for the local food pantries. Lastly, we have been knitting hats and scarves for those who need them to keep warm this year.

one of the many good deeds I have recently seen is a family whose was living in a car... our pastor and lots of our church families have gotten a rental home for them, we are going to go fix up the place tomorrow and saturday... they need everything so each family is in charge of cleaning and supplying different rooms of the house.
Thanks,

Our golf cart broke down with my husband and our children inside. My husband's phone wouldn't work, and this nice man lent him his phone and offered to help with the golf cart.
I've given other shoppers coupons for items that were in the cart already, if they didn't have any coupons with them. They always seem so shocked, but appreciative, especially at the store that doubles coupons here. It's fun to do!
Close friends of ours deliver christmas presents to families in need every Christmas Eve. Such an awesome tradition!
my husband backed into a car that was getting air at a gas station (the car was small and in dh's blind spot).
the man was SO kind to my husband, and his wife even made us a gift basket to show that they weren't upset. how kind is that? :)

Yesterday I was Christmas shopping for my kids, and while at WalMart and I saw a man filling a cart with sales and clearance toys. He was in line in front of me, and the Cashier commented on how thrilled his kids were going to be (he bought almost $600 worth of toys), and he replied that he didn't have any kids, so he was buying these to donate to Toys For Tots so that kids whose parents don't have money to spare on gifts can still get Christmas Presents. He said he does it every year since he doesn't have any kids to buy for in his own family and he loves seeing kids happy at Christmas time. It was ispiring!
